Fishing
in Argentina
In
Argentina you’ll find a great variety of places where
you can enjoy this exciting activity. The most usual technique
is fly-fishing and among the species you can find in our lakes
and rivers, trouts, “dorado” and the salmon are
the most wanted.
Andean Patagonia
Fishing
season runs November 15- May 1. In some areas, catch-and-release
is allowed year-around; in some places it’s compulsory,
and in some, catches may be kept.
Nahuel Huapi, Gutiérrez,
Mascardi, Correntoso and
Traful are just a few of the many beautiful
lakes in the northern lake district that attract fishing fanatics
from all over the world.
If
you are seeking the perfect pool or stream for fly-fishing,
you may have to do some hiking, particularly along the banks
of the Chimehuín, Limay,
Traful and Correntoso rivers.
Near
Junín de los Andes, the Río
Malleo (Malleo River) and the Currihué,
Huechulafquen, Paimún,
and Lácar lakes are also good fishing
grounds.
Near El Bolsón and Esquel,
in Los Alerces National Park, many remote
lakes and streams are accessible only by boat or seldom-traveled
dirt roads.
